Ley lines run all over the world like an invisible network of electrical wires. While ley lines exist almost everywhere, their concentration varies greatly. Most people live their entire lives without ever noticing them.
Pike Creek sits at the convergence of several ley lines. Rather than passing cleanly through the area, these lines intersect and tighten, creating what is called The Weave, but is most commonly referred to as the Knot.
The Knot is the defining feature of Pike Creek and the reason supernatural activity is unusually common within the town and its surroundings.
Effects of the Knot

Unlike most ley line intersections, the Knot’s influence extends well beyond its immediate convergence point and can be felt throughout Pike Creek and its surrounding wilderness.
Hollowborn, Faded, Lycans, Skinwalkers, and other supernatural creatures report feeling stronger, healthier, or more connected to their abilities while near the Knot.
Gifted are uniquely created by the Knot itself, due to its volatile power leaking out into Pike Creek.
Many describe the sensation as a feeling of clarity or familiarity. While supernatural beings can leave Pike Creek and continue functioning normally elsewhere, extended periods away from the Knot often leave them feeling diminished or disconnected.
This effect is not limited to individuals.
The Knot appears to influence Pike Creek itself. Plants that should not thrive in the region grow naturally. Certain resources seem unusually abundant, and the town often continues functioning despite circumstances that would challenge similarly isolated communities.
These effects are subtle and difficult to measure individually, but become more noticeable when viewed collectively.
Understanding the Weave

The existence of ley lines is accepted by most supernatural groups, particularly the Hollowborn, who have studied them extensively. However, no one has been able to determine their origin, purpose, or true nature.
While ley line intersections are not unheard of, few are known to produce effects on the scale observed in Pike Creek.
It remains unknown why the Knot creates Gifted, why certain locations develop Knots while others do not, or why its influence manifests differently from one location to another.
Likewise, no one has been able to determine the true relationship between the Knot and other supernatural phenomena. While the Knot clearly attracts and strengthens supernatural beings, it is not believed to be their origin.
Most residents of Pike Creek are unaware of the Weave’s existence.
Its influence on the town remains regardless.
